Here is what I have been currently working on. My two double page spreads are close to being perfected. I have been messing with the logos on the 3rd page (with the legs) and I am trying to perfect the color in the background. I like this color, but we will see what it looks like when I actually print it.
Below are my table of contents and one idea I started for the cover. We are focusing on the fact that all the designers (in our specific book) use a pop of color, and we arranged the artists by date of birth. We called the book "swatches: a selection of color and design through time." I am really enjoying this project!

In looking at all the pages together, I'm overwhelmed by the density of images and color. It gets a little confusing as to what is Bass's work and what is your manipulation of his work. I'm starting to think that the third page should really show the difference between the poster and the logos and not imply that they are all one thing. Maybe the first page should have the background images at less opacity to really play up the Bass aesthetic.
ReplyDeleteThe color wheel is an interesting start.
