Right now we are all gluing our boxes and getting in line for the bandsaw. We will start by cutting the wood and using clamps to hold the walls as they glue.
Starting this new project we were to bring something to class of importance to us. We are designing a box/container/vessel that can hold that item and can reflect the importance of it through the box. I chose to make a wooden box that holds pencils/ pens, sticky notes, and possible paperclips. I am a very organized person and am constantly writing notes to myself or others.
Google SketchUp is a fun tool. I'm glad I didn't use it as my final picture, but I feel like this tool will come in handy later on. It helped me understand perspective a bit better.
This is where one of my first dates took place with my boyfriend (whom this chair is about). I love Chicago!
This was pretty difficult. I'm not the world's greatest illustrator, but I had fun with this. The idea that the balloons and buildings look like they are floating and are connected to the chair, draws your eye down to the small chair. The elephant can be seen as the bow the strings are all tied too; it consists of the ears and the trunk. Also a foot of an elephant can be seen as a building that almost looks like a balloon.
