Kendall Buster and Methods and Materials Website

Methods and Materials is an establishment that assembles and constructs art pieces. They range from sculptures, to carvings, to large-scale art pieces. Kendall Buster is an artist that got a BFA from Corcoran College of Art and Design ands a MFA from Yale University that is involved with this.  She has art all around the United States. She not only commissions sculptures, but is a professor in the Department of Sculpture and extended Media at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Kendall has a distinct style in her sculptures. They appear to be limited to a specific color palate and symmetrical in certain aspects. Some of her modules are made with wire frames and delicate netting; this gives it a neutral color. The color does not distract from the architectural type of art created. The lighting is what seems to have a different effect. In order to understand her art better I would personally want to see them in the environment in which it was created for. I think the environment in this case says more about the piece than the piece itself. I like art that provokes thought, and her sculptures have this effect on me
